Fairview Aggies outlast West Point Warriors 76 to 72

Aggies win their 4th in a row, go to 3 & 0 in county games:

GDW Analysis:
WEST POINT: Fairview Aggies were able to breath a sigh of relief as they made 3 FTs in the final 0:09 seconds to escape Jim Boyd Gymnasium Thursday, getting by the West Point Warriors 76 to 72.
The Aggies were only 6 of 13 from the stripe in the 4th. Their missed attempts gave West Point a chance for a comeback.
West Point closed to 73 to 72 with 10 seconds left on a three by Jaxon Shelton.
Free throws from Landun Smith and one by Blake Rikard enabled the Aggies to extend their winning streak to 4 games and take over first place in the Cullman County standings with a 3 & 0 record.
West Point lost for the first time in 4 games and dropped to 2 & 1 in the county standings.
The game was very good with a lot of scoring in the 1st that featured 8 lead changes.
Fairview went up 26 to 23 when time ran out and had a good 2nd period by scoring 20 and leading the Warriors 46 to 37.
Rikard and Calin Collins both netted 12 through halftime. Collins was sharp in the 2nd with 5 FGs, taking over the scoring for coach Ganus' Aggies after Rikard got called for his 2nd personal foul.
West Point got offense from Jay Lamar in the 3rd as he tallied 13 points following a 2 point 1st half outing. He got the Warriors within grasp of the Aggies, trailing 58 to 56.
Lamar netted a 3 early in the 4th to send West Point on top 61 to 59. Fairview then responded with a 9 to 0 run and led 68 to 61.
West Point came back but could never get the game even again and was down by a point when the Aggies tallied three FTs in the closing seconds after an intentional foul was called against the Warriors followed by a technical four on the West Point bench.
Rikard would deliver 25 points to the winners, hitting 5 treys. Collins scored 14, Smith accounted for 13, 

 Lamar had a great 2nd half in scoring 21 of his team high 23 points. Maddox Chapman produced 19 and Jaxson Shelton got 15 while Cade Vincent netted 8 on 2 treys and a FG.
Fairview plays host to the Cold Springs Eagles Friday.
West Point is on its way to a tournament at Gulf Shores High School with a first round game to take place Saturday.
