GDW Analysis:
FAIRVIEW: Two things stood for the Fairview Lady Aggies Tuesday during a 50 to 40 victory against Vinemont in a game of undefeated teams playing at Joe Shults Gym.
Fairview adjusted its starting lineup due to PG Darby Nichols not feeling well in recovering from a weekend stomach virus.
Davi Stidham and Peyton Defoor rotated in Nichols' spot while Katlyn Redding joined Whitney Quick and Lexi Golden patrolling the wing and post area.
Fairview also did well from the foul line in outscoring Vinemont 14 to 5. The Lady Aggies made 14 of 19, the Lady Eagles hit 5 of 8.
A plus nine in FT scoring would be the difference for Fairview to go 5 & 0 on the season and 2 & 0 in Cullman County games.
Vinemont dropped to 2 & 1 and is 0 & 1 vs. county opposition.
For the 1st half, the game was evenly matched. The score was tied 7 times went on a 4 to 0 run late in the 2nd to break the deadlock and lead at the break, 26 to 22.
The Lady Aggies slowed down Vinemont's scoring in the 3rd with the Lady Eagles managing 7 points on 3 FGs.
Fairview converted four shots in the period and was 3 of 4 at the line in getting the lead up to 38 to 29.
Shooting 6 of 8 from the line was good to carry the Lady Aggies to the victory.
Stidham stood out for coach Chris Nichols with 14 points on 4 FGs, 2 treys and 5 of 6 FTs.
Whitney Quick, playing against her former teammates, tossed in 11 and was 5 of 6 from the stripe.
Nichols played for over 15 minutes with her condition, gave the team 7 points, all in the 2nd half.
Redding netted 6, Defoor scored 7, Lexi Golden and Maci Gregory 2 and Mali Gregory 1.
Caroline Miller was the only Vinemont player i n double digits, leading her team with 13. She tallied 5 FGs, 2 treys and 2 of 4 FTs.
Reagan Robinson scored 8, Morgan Flanagan had 6, Carley Stephens and Addison Holcomb tossed in 4 for first year coach Emily Willoughby.
Fairview plays at West Point Thursday in an early season showdown in county hoops.
Vinemont will be playing at Good Hope Friday in the home opener for the Lady Raiders.
