GDW Analysis:
Good Hope's Raiders see this week as a "window of opportunity" for them in trying to stay on top of AHSAA 4A, Area 13 basketball.
The Raiders are 3 & 0 and will close out the area schedule with three assignments this week.
Game 1 of the task is Tuesday at West Morgan. The Raiders have a makeup trip to East Lawrence Thursday and welcome Danville to campus for a Friday battle.
Heading into the week of area play, Drew Adams' Raiders are 3 & 0 with West Morgan a game back at 3 & 1.
East Lawrence is 1 & 2 with Danville in last place, winless in four tries.
Good Hope has been good all season with the exception of consecutive home losses between January 3 and January 9 to Arab and Madison Academy.
The Raiders are 15 & 5 for the season.
West Morgan is led by former Cullman coach Bobby Meyer. His Rebels were romped by the Raiders 83 to 43 on December 17.
Good Hope is aware of the environment they will experience Tuesday in order to move closer of clinching the top seed for the area playoffs in February.
Elsewhere in area play Tuesday:
Lawrence County at West Point: The Warriors are at home for 5A, Area 15 play this week with their friends from Moulton visiting Jim Boyd Gymnasium Tuesday.
West Point, with 18 wins out of 22 games, are 0 & 2 in the area. Area 15 is a three team area for the next two years.
Mason Voce's Warriors will need to sweep Lawrence County and Russellville on Friday in order to possibly get a three way tie when area play ends January 24 with Lawrence County taking on Russellville.
Russellville is 2 & 0 with Lawrence County 1 & 1. Lawrence County has a 1 point win over West Point and a 1 point loss to Russellville.
West Point is also looking at winning the Cullman County title for they have the No. 1 seed going into the event next week at Wallace State.
Game time Tuesday for the Warriors and Lawrence County is approximately 7:45 p.m.
