GDW Analysis:
LOGAN: Middle school volleyball brought Gameday Weekly to Harmony School for the first time Monday.
The school which is located approximately 5 miles from the former Jones Chapel School, hosted Hanceville and Fairview in a trim match.
GDW had covered Harmony when they opened the season August 26 at Good Hope.
Now the Lady Hawks had the media in their presence and would pick up their first victory of the 2024 season.
Harmony edged Hanceville 2 games to 1. The Lady Hawks would bounce back after losing the first set 25 to 19, by playing hard and playing well for a 25 to 14 victory in the 2nd set and a 15 to 12 tally in the tiebreaker.
The match was played in 59 minutes.
Coach Leah Hoffpauir's squad trailed 4 to 1 early in the 2nd set when they were able to break Hanceville's serve and move into the lead.
Murphree Perdue produced five consecutive points on serve and had some serving support from Payton Holt.
Hanceville slowed up Harmony by plays from Saban Goodwin and Ayiah Hickman to close the deficit to 12 to 9. Two kills and a volley by Perdue regained the momentum for Harmony.

Harleigh Long added support from the service line with the set ending in a Harmony victory on a kill by Xoie Higginbotham.
In the tiebreaker, a quick 3 to 0 lead was locked in for the Lady Hawks by Holt.
Hanceville then moved ahead 5 to 3 when they got service and was led by three straight scores from Lyla Leusby, with back to back aces.

A lift on Hanceville enabled Harmony to tie the game at 7 to 7. They broke the deadlock on a score from the serve of Alison Boatright as she followed with an ace and the lead was 11 to 9.
Hanceville stormed to within 12 to 11 on a volley by Adalynn Sharp.
The Lady Bulldogs served the ball into the net for Harmony to lead 14 to 12 and the match ended at 5:34 p.m. on a volley by Holt.
Harmony had prevailed for the first time in six assignments. This was the 3rd time Hoffpauir's squad had played an opponent to a tiebreaking set, winning for the first time.
Hanceville was seeking its first victory of the season too. Lily Hardman's Lady Bulldogs put together a sound effort with GDW on hand to report on the battle.
Fairview vs. Hanceville:
After the tiebreaker with Harmony and Hanceville, Hanceville faced Fairview.
The Lady Aggies claimed a sweep by 25 to 10 and 25 to 14, needing 42 minutes to accomplish the task.
Isabella McGukin's team had Hanceville down 9 to 1 in the first set with service being a quality by Addie Stacy with seven in a row before service was broken. Emma Cobbs then provided a pair and the Lady Aggies displayed solid play to win this one by double digits.
Service scoring also came from Emma Bryan, Olivia Daniel and Arleigh Harris. The largest lead turned out to be the finale when Harris connected and it was 25 to 10 for Fairview.
Six straight service points by Stacy got the Lady Aggies ahead in the 2nd set.
Hanceville did manage to make a run and close to 7 to 5 when Sharp got an ace.
Fairview encountered a surge and led 14 to 7 after consecutive points on serve were scored by Daniel.
Hanceville again fought back and was down 14 to 10 on an ace by Lakelynn Guess.
That would be as close as the Lady Bulldogs would come in this set. Fairview had six straight points and a 20 to 10 lead with key plays coming by Adalynn Wilkerson and Kameri Burgess in attacking near the net.
Hanceville served the ball out of play to end the match at 6:37 p.m. and a sweep for Fairview.
Harmony looked to continue the momentum the Lady Hawks had from the victory over Hanceville in a scheduled tri match Tuesday in Baileyton.
Harmony is to play Parkside at 4:30 p.m. then face Cullman Christian School at 5:30 p.m.

CCS and Parkside are to close out the tri match at 6:30 p.m.
