St. Bernard Lady Saints upset area rival Addison:

Lady Saints remain alive in trying to win 1A, Area 14 title:

GDW Analysis:
A good week of playing in AHSAA 1A, Area 14 has kept the St. Bernard Lady Saints in search of winning the regular season title.
With a 34 to 30 upset of Addison Thursday from the Fazi Richard Athletic Center, St. Bernard can accomplish the task Monday when they visit Addison.
Addison was 4 & 0 in the area coming in.

The rematch looms large for the winner to be the host site for the playoffs next month.
It was a battle for which both teams would swap the lead often on the scoreboard.
St. Bernard went ahead 10 to 7 when time ran out in the opening period.
Addison then used a 10 to 2 run in the 2nd and led at the half, 17 to 12. Ava Bartlett was a spark for Bailey Boland's Lady Bulldogs in the 2nd scoring 2 FGs and 2 of 3 from the line.
Addison earned a 24 to 18 advantage in the 3rd only to see St. Bernard rally and close the deficit to 24 to 22 when the period ended.
Ella Davis tied the score early in the 4th and would anchor the Lady Saints' offense scoring from times on drives to the basket and making a free throw.
The freshman finished with 22 points and scored 63 points in 3 area games during the week vs. Cullman Christian, Meek and Addison.
What was a key in the 2nd half for Tim Burleson's unit was Caroline McBride to stay out of foul trouble. She was charged with her 3rd foul early in the 3rd and then played sound basketball to stay on the floor and not spend any time of the 2nd half on the bench,
McBride collected 5 points in the final half with Jordan Hines adding 5 and 2 by Katie Chamblee.
The Lady Saints have 6 wins on the season in 9 games and are 3 & 2 in area play.
Bartlett's 9 points guided Addison with Karson Wyatt scoring 8 in a reserve role. Gracie Roberts chipped in with a three coming during the 3rd.
