Lady 'Cats earn win in final game at Cullman High Field:

GDW Analysis:
Senior Day was held for Cullman softball Monday before the Lady Bearcats went on to their artificial surface and defeated the West Point Lady Warriors 9 to 3.
Three seniors said goodbye in contributing to the Lady 'Cats 21st win of the season in 35 games. Since a thrilling 5 to 4 victory in extra innings last week at Good Hope April 8, Lewayne Morton's Lady 'Cats have gone 4-1-1.
Cullman was out to avenge a 1 to 0 loss to the Lady Warriors February 27 at Mike Brown Memorial Field.
The Lady 'Cats got a 3 to 0 lead after an inning on RBI base hits by Reese Hopper, Kynlei Storey and Hattie Graham.
That lead stood that way until the 3rd when West Point produced a run on a sac fly by Maci Brown scoring Makayla Wikins who walked and moved to 3rd on a double by Brinlee Phillips.
In the West Point 4th, Katie Beth Yovino led off with a double. Kylee Quinn then tied the score with a 2 run blast over the fence in left center.
Senior Brie Voss kept the game even for Cullman by getting out of trouble the rest of the inning. Voss then would shut out the Lady Warriors for the final three innings while the offense showed good play with 5 runs in the Cullman 5th on 4 hits.
Graham delivered a sac fly to score senior Taylor Au and put the Lady 'Cats ahead 4 to 3. A two run single by Dracen Bates, an RBI single from Voss and a run scoring groundout by senior Kylie Stracener gave the home club an 8 to 3 advantage when the 5th closed out.
Au reached base to lead off the Lady 'Cats 6th and would work her way home on a wild pitch to Hopper.
It was 9 to 3 Cullman as West Point went to hit in the 7th.
Brown led off with a single, but then got erased on a grounder to 1st that Brooklyn Morton turned into a 3-6 double play.

The game ended at 6:14 p.m. on Yovino grounding back to Voss in front of the circle who threw to Morton at first.
Voss pitched a complete game for Cullman, allowing West Point 3 runs on 9 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
The Lady 'Cats take a trip into Walker County Tuesday for a matchup with Jasper. Jasper is currently 3rd in the 5A rankings.
Cullman will play Mortimer Jordan in the Area 11 Tournament next Monday from Morris. The Lady 'Cats have clinched a berth to the AHSAA North Regional in Florence. The top seed and 2nd seed will be decided on April 29.
